Modern electronics, creative design and development in the area of programming equipment has made the hed.chip an inexpensive but nevertheless a professional programming system. Wide as well as narrow ICs can be inserted into the DIL40 ZIF test socket. hed.chip is attached to the parallel interface of a PC and a normal unregulated power plug point 12VDC/800 mA is necessary for the operation.
hed.chip can be operated from a graphical user interface on Windows 95/98/NT with a comfortable components database or from the DOS command line interface. The DOS software can fully work in batch mode and is suitable for integration with own development environments. For new programming algorithms or new programmable components, only an update of the PC software is needed.
Updates are regularly released and are available on the Internet, free of charge.
hed.chip is not an EPROM - programmer with some additional functions but a real universal programming device. Besides the actual memory for the components program, hed.chip also supports all additional functions, for example Security Fuses of programmable logic-components, Lock bits of microcontrollers and the software data protection for FLASH and EEPROMs.
